INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSDANE PRIVACY REQUESTS

 

It is the intent of Dane County government to provide access to public records while protecting the privacy interests of citizens in the community.  Individuals who request their names be removed from the AccessDane site should be aware that AccesDane parcel information, including property owner names, will be available for municipal offices and other institutions that need to conduct public duties.  Public records maintained by county offices remain available for viewing at the City-County building.

 

1 - If you wish to remove your name from Internet display on the public portal of the AccessDane website, click the Continue button below. 

2 - You will be asked to complete a form that provides the necessary contact information to process your request.   We suggest that you have a copy of your tax bill with you as you process this request so that you can reference owner and property information as it is contained in the Dane County tax/real property database.

3 - A confirmation page will be displayed showing the parcels for which the owner name to be removed.  Name display will be blocked for all Dane County properties found under this ownership.  We suggest that you print this confirmation page and save it for your records.

4 - Names will be removed with the next nightly update of AccessDane.  Please check the website the next business day to verify that the name display has been removed.


    

Important Notes:

Your property may be recorded under different variations of your name.  For example John Smith, John R. Smith, John and Jennifer Smith…To assure that Internet name display is removed for all properties you own, you may want to check several variations of your name. This privacy request applies only to the AccessDane Website.
